Emme's Room
We chose lots of bright colors and accents to contrast with the pale gray on the walls. The main accent wall is seen when you enter the room and the smaller accent wall is around the corner. These walls were fun to create. Ted laid out a pattern for each wall that I projected and used to guide my tape placement. To prevent the bright colors from bleeding under the paint, I first painted along all of the paint lines with the gray paint. Then it was time to bring in the rainbow colors! Emme and I chose seven vibrant colors which ended up taking four coats to get just the right saturation, but the end effect was totally worth it. It took over half an hour to pull all of the tape after the final coat, but was so satisfying!
Emme also got to choose a new bunk bed with an attached desk and a full sized bed underneath. She picked out bedding with bright colors to compliment her accent walls. Not one to see a fabulous item unused, Emme opted to have our bright green leather chair in her room for reading and added the old round framed mirror from Ari's bathroom over her dresser.
